(More customer reviews)My daughter did her science fair project on whether these UV cleaners work or not. After a month of using toothbrushes regularily and keeping some of them just sitting out and putting some of them in this sanitizer, she grew the bacteria off of each toothbrush.
Hate to say it, but bacteria from one of the UV toothbrushes started growing first! Overall, bacteria was on each toothbrush - the UV sanitized ones; the ones sitting in the cup on the bathroom counter; the brand new ones that went straight from the package to the petri dish... all of them.
So, I hate to knock the product here... but we didn't think it made any difference.

WEB WABSORBPD Absorber Replacement Pad Review

(More customer reviews)I've been using these filters in my central air conditioning unit for about a year now, and I have to say I'm very impressed with the odor removing capabilities. There are certain traditional foods that my mom cooks when visiting, and while they are great to eat, they leave a strong odor in the house, which can linger for days. I was quite surprised when I ran the air conditioner for 10-20 minutes, and the odor from one of her smellier dishes was undetectable. Normally, your nose desensitizes to the smell after a bit, but it hits you when you go out for a while and then come back in. Even entering and leaving the apartment, I couldn't detect the smell.
Note that for those of you who are looking to use this filter to eliminate allergens, you do make a tradeoff when using this filter compared to one of the higher efficiency filters like the MERV 11 filters from 3M. I do think the 3M filters were better for allergy reduction, but this WEB filter is a decent compromise, considering the remarkable odor removal capabilities.
As an added bonus, this type of carbon filter should theoretically provide some reduction of indoor pollutants, and since I live in Houston, I do appreciate any edge I can get in that regard. I don't expect that it will turn a bad smog day into a good one, but it's possible that it could make a high ozone day a little more bearable.
The only downside is that trimming the filters is a bit of a pain. I would recommend getting some good strong shears or perhaps tin snips to make the cutting a little easier on your hands.

And shipping weight is NOT 3 pounds. It's more like 1 at most.

(More customer reviews)I really do like this bathroom fan/light. It's pretty quiet compared to our old fan. We installed it where the fan comes on when the light is on. This way with existing wiring, we can use the night light, which I felt was too bright for a night light with a 25w bulb, so we added a dimmer for that, which works great. It was easy to install by dropping it through the ceiling, through the attic. It has brackets that can be extended to a further board. If we used this in a downstairs bathroom, a larger hole would have to be cut and blocks of wood put in to mount to, then a re-patch job. Though this uses two 60 watt bulbs, don't expect a super bright room, because the tinted glass dome reduces some of the light. This was ok for us, because we have additional lights in the bathroom. We do not have it directly over our shower, but I can visually see the steam going towards the fan, where I didn't with our older fan. Looking at the light/ fan at first, you wonder how it would suck it up, but it does have power, yet a quiet whisper sound. Sometimes though, it's nice to have other noise in the bathroom when you do not want to 'hear' stuff. Guess a stereo could be added lol.

(More customer reviews)We purchased two of these---one for our daughter-in-law and one for us. We plugged them in and began using them immediately. Even left it on day and night to get the benefits of it we'd seen on TV. Even though the man there said they wouldn't know what to do without them (not a commercial, a story about how great these lamps were for breathing problems). My daughter-in-law has asthma and we thought it might help her and we thought one for us to aid in breathing (always useful, since it's something we all must do to live). We think they were a waste of money and would gladly give it to someone else to see if they get any benefit from it. In fact, we're going to give ours to some charity organization if we can. We just want to get rid of it.
We noticed absolutely no benefit from it and our daughter in law didn't either.

(More customer reviews)I got this unit and used it under-water and on land ! over-all..its very fun ! it has a ping sound and the dish is a nice size ! very easy to use and assemble ! . It does not pick up small grains of gold...but it has a deep deep penetrating dish ! I have a friend that has a very expensive unit...and this unit found stuff his could not !!! this one picks up fine hair line fiber wire 7 inches deep ! that is creepy cool !.
The down-side is... What bothers me the most when using it is the coiled wire to the head-set...about a foot too short .The instructions-Manual is not indicating anything on the frequency range its set on. The Headset is permanently on! and cannot be removed ...including the dish coil. the whole thing is glued to one unit for water proofing.
This would have been a super unit if it had a disconnecting boot for the wires to the coil and the head-set.
About the whole enchilada ... I would take this unit any place any-day man !!!!

Honeywell Replacement Filter for 16060 Review

(More customer reviews)If you think this is the real and genuine Honeywell filter #16960 then you are mistaken. It is an imitation product made by BestAir that is NOT equivalent to the name brand filter. It fits my air cleaner and there is some sort of black fine grained filter fabric on the front face as expected. However the back white filter is far inferior. Instead of having a tightly fit ribbed accordion type filter with a high surface area on the backside, there are only a fraction of the ribs and my guess is about 1/5 the surface area. The description says "Item model number 16960" which is the Honeywell number I thought I was getting. This is deceiving because it is not the BestAir model number. The actual model number listed by BestAir is D110. DO NOT buy this product expecting an equivalent product to the name brand item.

(More customer reviews)We have a well over a pasture and it gets contaminated. We discovered that some of our intestinal problems were related to Giardia and Chryptosporidia. Boiling and distilling water took a lot of time and energy - very costly. I didn't like the idea of whole house UV because you have to leave it on all the time. We don't have room for the chlorine drip tank system. This small, inexpensive, easy to install system in combination with some poly carb tanks has given us biologically safe water to drink without having to haul it from the store. Also store bought water come in plastic that has to be recycled and can be contaminated with bisphenol-a. We turn this system on only once or twice a week to fill up the drinking water containers. I learned that turning on/off the bulbs substracts 6hrs. from the bulb life. But if you only turn it on once of twice a week, you still extend the bulb life. This product has been a great solution for us.
